Rep. Jerrold Nadler secured $4.49 million for construction of a public park in the Riverside South development. The money, directed to the city Parks Department, will go toward constructing the next phase of Riverside South Park. The funding was secured in the House’s Omnibus Appropriations bill, which details money to be spent in the 2009 fiscal year.
The Upper West Side portion of Nadler’s district is also poised to receive more than $1.2 million for other projects, such as $95,000 for arts education programs at the Kaufman Center and $381,000 for Jazz at Lincoln Center community and education programs. Nadler was able to secure a total of $11.8 billion for his district.
