On Friday, April 5, a 46-year-old woman was in the process of moving into her new apartment on Riverside Boulevard. Five movers working for two different moving companies were on the premises. The woman stated that she had a box and a jewelry bag containing some $50,000 worth of jewelry in a plastic shopping bag, which she confirmed was present in the new apartment at 9:30 in the morning. When the movers left at 4 p.m., she discovered that the bag was empty and the jewelry was gone. The victim couldn't say who she thought had taken her bling, but police consider one or more of the five movers the likely suspect. No arrest has yet been made.
