Brunch at Betel: Moms Eat FreeKon-Tiki gift guide eggs_OTDT
51 Grove Street, 212-352-0460,
With unique smells, textures, and flavors, the Asian infused spin on traditional American brunch fare will satisfy mom’s cravings for sweet, salty, sour, and spicy! Best bets are the Bircher Muesli, served chilled with yogurt, green apple, dates, almonds & roasted coconut ($10), Thai Pomela salad with grilled shrimp, lemongrass, peanut, lime leaf, and coconut milk ($15), Foon’s Thai omelet, a thin egg crepe made with chicken, onion, and soy sauce ($13), and the jackfruit pancakes served with jackfruit syrup & a jackfruit compote ($12). Portions are fairly modest, but mom can fill up on $15, all-you-can drink mimosas (two hour limit).
Ashley Duncan Jewelry
Online Only:,
Heart Bracelet: $85, Black and White (Heart) Necklace: $95, Dot Ring: $65
Designed with mom in mind, downtown resident Ashley Duncan’s designs are “happy, with a pop of color.” Between diaper changes, cooking, and nap schedules, it’s easy to throw on one of these rings to match just about anything, from jeans to a little black dress. Duncan’s clients love mixing and matching bracelets in different colors from the “heart” line and stacking dot rings and bangles together. Plus, a double-sided heart necklace goes with twice as many outfits. All are 18K gold plated & enamel.

Jacques Torres Chocolate
350 Hudson Street, 212-414-246,
Chocolate Wedge Sandal: $44; Mom Plaque: $14; Purse: $32

If you want to get really cute, get mom chocolate covered Cheerios ($6) or Cornflakes ($6) from the baby! If you have your heart set on a traditional box of chocolates, you can pick out your own assortment in-store or order a box of 12 for $19.50, which includes caramels, nutty pralines, simple ganaches, exotic tea and spice infusions, fruit and wine blends, and a “mystery” flavor.
