Brunch at Betel: Moms Eat Free
51 Grove Street, 212-352-0460, Betelnyc.com
With unique smells, textures, and flavors, the Asian infused spin on traditional American brunch fare will satisfy mom’s cravings for sweet, salty, sour, and spicy! Best bets are the Bircher Muesli, served chilled with yogurt, green apple, dates, almonds & roasted coconut ($10), Thai Pomela salad with grilled shrimp, lemongrass, peanut, lime leaf, and coconut milk ($15), Foon’s Thai omelet, a thin egg crepe made with chicken, onion, and soy sauce ($13), and the jackfruit pancakes served with jackfruit syrup & a jackfruit compote ($12). Portions are fairly modest, but mom can fill up on $15, all-you-can drink mimosas (two hour limit).
