Arguably there is no greater red carpet extravaganza than the Met Costume Institute Gala, complete with breathless coverage from essentially every press outlet in creation. By the time the after-parties roll around, however, the atmosphere is considerably more relaxed. Most stars arrive sans handlers, the flashbulbs (at least inside) are kept to a minimum, and more than a few attendees change into more casual, party-friendly attire.

Coco Rocha, Jessica Stam, Debra Messing, Ginnifer Goodwin, Jamie Tisch, Karolina Kurkova, Marina Rust, and Rachel Zoe were just some of the bold-faced names who stopped by for a glass or two of champers – and quite a few, like Messing and Linda Wells, stayed for a while and decamped to one of the restaurant’s many banquettes.
