If flexibility is a sign of mental health, then former Governor, current gay, Jim McGreevey is one of the healthiest men in the tri-state area. He’s changed both careers and partners, and now he’s changing his faith. This past Sunday at St. Bartholomew’s Church here in NYC, McGreevey was officially received into the Episcopalian religion, according to Rev. Kevin Bean, vicar. Bean told the Star-Ledger of Newark that McGreevey has entered the [church’s “discernment” phase], which usually precedes  seminary work.

McGreevey has also been accepted to the [General Theological Seminary] to begin studies this fall in their master of divinity program. It’s not certain that his studies will lead to the priesthood. McGreevey’s faith is yet another point of contention between him and his estranged wife. She objects to the idea that their five-year-old daughter receive [communion in the Episcopal Church](www.msnbc.com). Like McGreevey, she was raised Catholic.

If he does opt for the priesthood, people with marital problems, divorce problems, career problems, disputes over [raising their children] and angst regarding their sexual preferences will certainly find an especially sympathetic ear.
