Man Killed By Taxi Cab

He was crossing the intersection at East 60th Street and Third Avenue, according to police. The 67-year-old man was brought to Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. At press time, the New York City Police Department was investigating the incident, and the taxi driver had not yet been charged. Viliulfo Cardoso, 40, a witness who runs a nearby taco stand, saw the cab hit the man, according to [DNAinfo.com](http://DNAinfo.com), a Manhattan news website. â??The cab was going very fast and he didn"t stop, Cardoso told [DNAinfo.com](http://dnainfo.com/). â??The cab just smashed into him. The accident took place only days after 21 children and three adults from a Brooklyn school were involved in a May 21 school bus accident on East 63rd Street and First Avenue. The driver slammed hard on the brakes after being cut off by another vehicle, police said. The bus passengers were taken to Weill Cornell Medical center for minor injuries.
