A man was arrested April 8 after attacking another man who was trying to stop a fight. Police said that at 2:41 a.m., Jermaine Humber, 36, was speaking in a “disrespectful manner” to a tenant in a West 61st Street building, between West End and Amsterdam avenues. A 34-year-old man tried to diffuse the situation, but that escalated into shouting and shoving between the two men. When the 34-year-old man tried to walk away, police said Humber smashed a glass 40-ounce bottle of Coors into his head, causing swelling and a laceration above his left eyebrow. Humber was charged with assault.
