A 68-year-old woman and her husband were staying overnight at an elegant West Side hotel. The couple never left the room until they went out for dinner on the 28th. As they were leaving for dinner, the woman discovered that her diamond watch and jewelry, worth $65,400, were missing from the nightstand next to her bed. The victim said that the only person who entered the room during that time was the female maid, who came in to clean the room and make up the beds. No arrest has yet been made.
