On the morning of Saturday, May 18, a 30-year-old woman was sitting near the train doors on a northbound R train pulling into the Rector Street station. When the train doors opened, a 20-year-old man reached in and grabbed the iPhone she was holding and ran away. The young woman got off the train at Cortland Street. Police conducted a canvas of the area but were unable to locate the cell phone or the robber. There were no cameras on the train platform. With the aid of a "Find My iPhone" app, her iPhone was located at a store on Fulton Street in Brooklyn. The store manager stated that the robber had been in the store five to ten minutes earlier, trying to sell the phone. Police conducted a canvass of the Fulton Street Mall but were unable to locate the cell phone snatcher. Remember, if you want your iPhone to continue to be" My Phone." don't use it when you're sitting by the train doors!
