Local Businesses Form Seaport Alliance

A group of small locally owned businesses in the historic district around the South Street Seaport announced that they have formed a non-profit merchants' association called The Old Seaport Alliance, intended to help bolster business in the wake of Hurricane Sandy's destruction. The group, which includes businesses and residents north of South Street, south of Water Street, east of Beekman Street, and west of Dover Street, is launching a social media campaign to make locals more aware of what the businesses have to offer and hopes to drive more revenue to the district.
