Joanna Newsom's Harp Gets More Backup
Last year, [Brooklyn Philharmonic] wowed indie fans with their [collaboration with Antony Hegarty](http://www.stereogum.com/archives/concert/antony-the-johnsons-wbrooklyn-philharmonic-bam-bro.html) on the BAM stage, and they're looking to tap back into that potential new wave of music lovers who may not be brave enough to listen to an orchestra unless it has a falsetto voice as accompaniment.
Well, the decision to work with Joanna Newsom, she of the [distracting caterwaul](/19/45/music/music2.cfm), will surely impress enough hoodie-wearers to sell-out the February 1 scheduled BAM date. Newsom's already had practice with full-on orchestras, including playing at [L.A.'s Disney Hall], so let's see what B'klyn Phil's music director, Michael Christie, can get out of the puckish one. Tickets are not yet on sale, but be on the lookout when they are released.
