    Unknown perpetrators stole jewelry from a woman's apartment while she was away on vacation. At 10 AM on Monday, July 29, a 42-year-old woman living on West End Avenue left on vacation. When she returned at 9 AM on August 22, she discovered that jewelry was missing. The items had been kept in a drawer. The building superintendent had keys and access to the apartment and had given access to workers to enter the apartment and fix the heating. Items stolen were a wedding band valued at $2,000, a sapphire necklace worth $1,500, two pearl necklaces valued at $1,000 each, a pearl ring priced at $900, and pearl earrings valued at $200. The total stolen amounted to $6,600.
