In The Bronx, A Forum Will Decide
Bronx County Democratic Chairman Jose Rivera (pictured) has not yet made up his mind about who he will endorse for President. But he's come up with an excellent way to make his pick.
Rivera said that he likes both Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama a great deal, and that his endorsement will be decided between those two candidates. He said he has contacted both campaigns about hosting a forum in The Bronx, to let the community hear from both candidates and decide who to support.
"This is good for everybody, and it's good for The Bronx. Who I would support, I would support after the forum," said Rivera.
Rivera said that he does love Clinton and thinks she has been a wonderful senator, but that he could not reflexively support her as the hometown favorite. "I have a bigger responsibility," said Rivera.
It has come up in the past that Rivera [might endorse Obama outright], though [he denied it at the time](http://www.nypress.com/blogx/display_blog.cfm?bid=32490862&day=8&startmonth=2&startyear=2007).
