In A Rush? Stay Out Of The Sky

We’re sure this won’t surprise you given this year's [Valentine's Day fiasco], but the city’s three area airports set the nation’s record for [flight delays this August](http://www.nydailynews.com/news/2007/10/03/2007-10-03_nycarea_airports_have_worst_arrival_reco.html?ref=rss). According to the [Bureau of Transportation Statistics](http://www.bts.gov/programs/airline_information/airline_ontime_tables/2007_08/index.html), John F. Kennedy International Airport, LaGuardia Airport, and Newark Liberty ranked 30, 31, and 32 in arrival delays out of the country’s 32 major airports. In case you’re flying somewhere soon, here’s the breakdown: LaGuardia bites the big one with an on-time arrival rate of 57.6 percent, down from 68 percent last year. JFK sucks a modicum less at 58.7 percent, down from 69.6 percent. And Newark rocks, relatively speaking, with a rate of 62 percent, down from 65.9 percent. But never fear: President Bush has set up a task force to fix the problem by the end of this year. And get this, Georgy’s transportation secretary, Mary Peters, is apparently considering a [congestion-pricing plan](http://www.nysun.com/article/63906)!
