HUNGER WALK

nonprofit and faith-based agencies at the interchurch center in morningside heights will participate in the annual crop hunger walk tuesday, oct. 5. the participants in the hour-long walk are raising money that will be given to local food pantries. food pantries, soup kitchens and other programs have until the day of the walk to apply for funds. previous organizations that received funds from the crop hunger walk include broadway presbyterian on west 114th street and st. mary's episcopal church on west 125th street and amsterdam avenue.

those interested in participating or donating can register at www.churchworldservice.org or call 1-888-cws-crop. participants will meet at noon in the lobby of the interchurch center, 475 riverside dr. at west 120th street.
