a man's bicycle was stolen july 26 while visiting a friend on west 85th street between columbus avenue and central park west. the 32-year-old upper west side resident told police he locked his $5,500 bicycle to the scaffolding at 7 p.m. he was in his friend's apartment for 10 minutes. when he returned, the bike was missing and the cut chain was left.
