Building workers are the life-blood of our great city. They toil, many times unrecognized, behind the scenes to make sure that our workplaces are clean, that our housing is livable and that everything from our artistic institutions to civic institutions run smoothly. Their presence is literally everywhere.
For the fourth year in a row, 32BJ SEIU, the largest property service union in the country, and Manhattan Media are honoring their contributions with the Building Workers of the Year Awards. With so many great nominees it was difficult winnowing down the list to the following winners. Their profiles and amazing life stories are profiled in the next 11 pages.
Thanks to all the sponsors of the Building Service Worker Awards: 32BJ SEIU, The Durst Organization, Cooper Square, Newmark Knight Frank, BMS, LLC, Monday Properties, Ogden Cap, Trinity Real Estate, SL Green, City University of New York, Kaufman Organization, Douglas Elliman Property Management, George Comfort & Sons, ABM Industries, Madison Square Garden and the New York Yankees.
