Halt the Hike (And Fainting Passengers)

| 11 Nov 2014 | 02:04

This morning's commute on the 1 train was packed and hot and sweaty. Water dripped on us from a condenser. A circuit clicked and some piercing alarm continued to sound. Then the lady behind me fainted and her bottled water sprayed at least a dozen of us. We lifted her up as the doors closed and got her off at the next stop. Yes, she admitted, she had not eaten last night or this morning. Mama, please, eat, we already have enough train problems.

And of course it's time for us to pay more for this wonderful experience. There's a group trying to [Halt the Hike], check it out here. And in the meantime, enjoy your summer riding experience.
