Get Your Peroxide Ready, Ladies

New Yorkers tired of Laura Bell Bundy staring wide-eyed and slightly deranged from ads for [Legally Blonde, The Musical] atop taxis and pasted onto bus stops got good news today:  The Broadway show is looking for a new woman and conducting an Idol-style multi-city search to find their perfect blonde.   I told them I was right here, but sadly I'm not the "talented singer/actress/dancer" scouts want.   Alas, there's a catch.  Maybe the [writers's strike](http://www.wga.org/) is causing problems for cable too, because the search for the new leading lady will be a [reality show](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reality_tv) set to air on MTV this spring, according to a press release from the musical's PR firm:

"MTV will once again join forces with the Legally Blonde, The Musical team, this time to search for a talented singer/actress/dancer to take over for Broadway star and current lead Laura Bell Bundy. Auditions for the new "Elle" begin this month and will be held in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Orlando and Nashville."   MTV aired the movie turned musical turned musical-filmed-for-television [last October], but execs must think the channel's teeny and tweeny viewers want more.   Disclaimer: This post in no way suggests I won't be Tivo-ing the show, judging its contestants, and thinking "that's not even her real hair color."
