    Don't we wish.

No, the next John Waters musical to get a chance at subverting Broadway audiences with not-so-subtle perverted references will be [Cry-Baby]. But in the meantime, our legally blind governor, David A. Paterson and our favorite trash-talking, Comme des Garçons-wearing film director, John Waters, join forces to talk to the gays this evening.

That's right: Tonight Paterson will be honored at the 2008 [National Gay and Lesbian Task Force New York Leadership Awards] "for his unequivocal advocacy for the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) New Yorkers," according to the press release. And John Waters will be on hand to make sure the place gets a few funny (if recycled) jokes. Oh and for the "official" entertainment? That'd be Debbie Harry. Maybe she'll even mention what she thinks about John Varvatos' newly opened store in the former CBGB space...
