Assembly Member Linda Rosenthal is working with the American Italian Cancer Foundation to station a mammography van outside her district office. The van, which provides free screenings to women over 40 who have not had a mammogram in the past year, is scheduled to be at her office Thursday, Jan. 28, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Uninsured women will be able to partake in this service without providing documentation. Insured women must bring their provider ID and policy number; their insurance company will be billed, but they will not have to pay out-of-pocket.
“I am proud to offer this lifesaving service to my female constituents,” Rosenthal said. “A mammogram is the single most effective way to prevent breast cancer and I urge all women to undergo this test once a year.”
Women interested in this service must schedule appointments by calling Rosenthal’s district office at 212-873-6368.
