FREE AS A BIRD

A Harris hawk takes flight during Central Park's annual Falconry Extravaganza, held on Oct. 5. Visitors to the East Meadow were treated to up-close views of several birds of prey, including eagles, kestrels and hawks, as well as flight demonstrations where the birds displayed their skills in the air. The event was sponsored by the Urban Park Rangers.
