Former Manager Robs Store

a former manager of a duane reade at 380 amsterdam ave. between west 78th and 79th streets is accused of stealing $1,000. police said the manager quit on april 29. on may 4 and 9, he returned and acted as an employee, gaining access to the manager's office. on may 9, the store was short $1,000. police said that video footage from the store shows the former manager removing money and stuffing it into his left pocket. no arrest has been made.
