Former Manager Robs Store

A former manager of a Duane Reade at 380 Amsterdam Ave. between West 78th and 79th streets is accused of stealing $1,000. Police said the manager quit on April 29. On May 4 and 9, he returned and acted as an employee, gaining access to the manager’s office. On May 9, the store was short $1,000. Police said that video footage from the store shows the former manager removing money and stuffing it into his left pocket. No arrest has been made.
