    a man attempted to rob a capital one bank at 4:27 p.m., feb. 4. cops said the man walked into the branch, at 175 w. 72nd st. and amsterdam avenue, and approached a teller. he passed her a handwritten note five sentences long that read, "give me all your fifty and hundred dollar bills." he ended the message courteously, with, "i have a gun. thank you kindly." the teller returned the note and triggered the alarm. the man fled empty handed.
