EURO COUNT: Let the European Invasion Begin

It's August and that means... the Europeans are coming. If you didn't realize that this is the month when all the Euros leave their home country and descend on others, then you sure did as you got on the train this morning or tried to walk down the street without stumbling over some thin, attractive and tan contingent of Romance language babblers. Turns out some New Yorkers are really jealous about this phenom, [especially one rich lady who wasn't too happy when she didn't get snappy service at Bergdorf] because some Euros were ahead of her in line.

Today, we begin our  August count of Europeans we bump into on the way to work each morning. Because it's fun to point people that are different from us and talk in a foreign language.

-7 Italians (three of them in skimpy clothes jogging and talking) -14 Northern Europeans of Indeterminate Origin (got stuck behind them as they tried to check into their "economy" hotel but couldn't quite make out what language they were speaking) -4 Spanish -2 Brits
