a woman told police march 2 that she forked over thousands of dollars not knowing that a friend's email account was hacked. the 66-year-old woman said she received an email from a friend asking her to wire $1,492 to london via western union. she did so. a similar email arrived in her inbox from the same friend, though this time, he asked for $1,703. she sent the money again before discovering that the funds were not going to her friend.
