It’s a shame you wrote you had to back-track to 35th street, ignoring those 2 hard-won blocks!
At least you correctly identified the new entrance on 60th street, instead of the old one at 63 (past 5 entrances and exits to the FDR and a busy gas station), but in fact, the bottom of that entrance ramp enters the esplanade at 61, so the “real” U.N. Gap is from the end of Glick Park at 38th – 61 Streets.
