A traditional Polar Bear swim at Coney Island went tragically wrong for [Mohan Seneviratne, who died on Friday]. The 32-year-old Manhattan journalist suffered spinal cord and neck injuries after diving into the cold waters on New Years Day and was taken to the hospital, but he was said to be in stable condition by the following night. Over the next few days, his condition deteriorated, but his father, Upali Seneviratne, says the information as to how this could have happened is lacking.
