A poll of Democrats and independents that lean towards the Democrats by the Gallup organizations finds that not only does her party prefer her as its nominee, but trusts her to handle 13 of the 17 major problems that will face the next president more than her fellow party rivals.

According to the poll Democrats see Clinton as the best candidate to handle healthcare, abortion, the economy, relations with other countries, education, gay marriage, terrorism, taxes, Iraq, energy and the environment, crime, immigration, and the military.

Her top opponent, Barack Obama, tops Clinton when it comes to race relations and inspiring Americans. The two are in a virtual tie when it comes to reforming Washington and healing this nation's political divisions. John Edwards finishes third in each of the categories, and his best numbers concern his potential handling of the armed forces.
