    a taxi driver barely evaded robbery after picking up a would-be thief on west 102nd street and broadway. cops said that on feb. 19 at 5 a.m., the thief asked the driver, a 38-year-old bronx man, to make two stops, the first being west 102nd street and amsterdam avenue. the thief instructed the driver to cross over amsterdam avenue onto a dead-end street. police said that's when the thief allegedly pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun and said, "give me all the money you have." when the thief got out of the car to approach the driver's side, the driver sped away.
