Dancing In The Street

When you walk out of your apartment tomorrow morning, you may spot a real, live band playing on the corner. As you mosey your way to the subway, you'll probably take note of music makers of all sorts jamming in every nook and cranny of the city. No,  you're not seeing things; tomorrow is the premier of the first annual [Make Music New York]. Based on a similar festival held in France called Fête de la Musique, this all day event turns the five boroughs into an outdoor Shangri la for professional and amateur musicians alike, ranging from opera singers to high school rock bands. Who needs an iPod when the whole sidewalk turns into a live shuffle?
