CRITIQUE OF CRITIC

To the Editor: Could you please supply me the same "powder" that Mr. Armond White takes? It is unbelievable that the most negative movie reviewer in this city (maybe in the country) can wax so poetic about the movie Transporter 3. I know he sees himself as a contrarian, since his reviews are ALWAYS diametrically opposite the mainstream media, i.e. The New York Times,  Daily News, New York Post, Lyon and Bailes, etc. But in this case, out of sheer curiosity, he'll probably drive me to the movies to see this flick. I know I'll regret it. I understand that all art forms are very subjective, but why are the majority of his reviews on the negative side? Every week when I get the West Side Spirit, I immediately turn to my wife and say, "What movie did he pan this week?" Well, change of heart. N.
