Cookers At The Point

After years of demands, it was announced today that a new green market has opened at the Hunt's Point Terminal Market in the South Bronx. The green market will complement the tremendous retail machine that the market provides for businesses, allowing small stores, restaurants and even individuals to sample the wares of Hunt's Point.

"We want to encourage small stores, restaurants, and other buyers to buy fresh locally grown plants and produce from the farmers, while purchasing the freshest and widest variety of seafood from our wholesaler members at the same convenient location," said Frank Minio, president of the market.

The hours are a little wacky. You can only visit between 1 a.m. and 10 a.m. Monday through Saturday. Get directions and other info [here]. They only have driving directions, but you aren't taking the train to Hunt's Point at 3 a.m. to buy apples and pears anyway.
