Convenient Money

Apparently some people are confused by the concept of a convenience store, thinking it is a convenient way to pick-up some extra cash. On March 8, a man said to be in his 20s, wearing khaki pants and a sweater, walked into a convenience store on First Avenue and pretended he was there to buy some groceries. But, according to police, the man instead produced a black handgun and demanded money from the store's clerk, a 42-year-old man who lives on Long Island. The perpetrator, who hailed a yellow cab heading north on First Avenue, got away with $1,200 in cash. Police conducted a brief search of the area but could not locate the man.
