Computer Swiped in East Side Bar

Most New Yorkers know that you should never leave your bags, especially anything valuable, unattended. One man obviously didn’t get the memo. On March 8, a man in his 20s reported to police that he’d been hanging out in a bar/pub on First Avenue and had placed his computer bag, containing a company-owned laptop, on the stool next to him. He told police that he got up to “mingle with others in the bar for a bit,” and that when he returned, his bag was gone. The Patagonia computer bag contained a popular Apple MacBook Pro computer. Both the bag and computer are valued at more than $2,000. The man said he called the bar the next day to see if they’d found his computer but the bar said nothing was found.
