Columbia Gets Biggest Donation Ever!

Now is a pretty good time to be a student at Columbia University. Forget about all their eminent domain issues, the ivy league institution received its largest donation ever today—a whopping $400 million, courtesy of investor and alum John Kluge, 92. The cash will come from his estate upon his death (try not to wish too hard), and will be used to provide merit-based scholarships for needy students who have already been accepted to the university. Fellow billionaire, Mayor Bloomberg, will give a speech on campus today in mighty praise of Kluge.
