I always rely on Mr. White for a clear-eyed perspective on films (and culture.) His is a rare mind that can stand outside the cultural milieu we swim (drown) in, added to great historical perspective to cut to the chase. (Sorry if my metaphors aren't well chosen and mixed.)

Bottom line, it's a pleasure to read a critic who doesn't go along with the crush of the crowd, who can pierce the Pavlovian, cultural conditioning (brainwashing) awash of our society since the 2nd half of the 20th Century, where the commercial hawkers of "art" know exactly which buttons to push to get an emotional rise out of the audience.

I look forward to his stimulating and provocative pieces.

Hooray for Armond White!
