Christine and Kim...history in the making.

Christine Quinn the City Council Speaker and supporter of a decrease in the Stop and Frisk policy is getting married to her longtime partner Kim M. Catullo tomorrow. New York City is abuzz with activity surrounding the nuptials.  Quinn will be the highest profile politician to be out and married.  New York's Marriage Equality Act was signed into law on June 24th 2011, allowing gay and lesbian couples the right to legally marry. The event will take place at the Highline Stages in the Meat Packing District and will include over 300 guests. Governor Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bloomberg are among the invited. Quinn has even been quoted as saying that President Obama "is more than invited to the wedding." According to the New York Times, the cake will be five tiers and made by Catullo's college roommate. Both ladies will have their fathers walk them down the aisle. Quinn and Catullo lost their mothers at a young age to cancer and they have a memorial setup at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for donations in lieu of gifts.  Quinn has admitted to being nervous about the big day. Perhaps she will be less nervous once she runs for mayor in 2013 as is rumored.
