A woman's purse was stolen while she was trying on clothes in the same department store on Cortland Street. At 3:40 PM on Tuesday, August 6, a 68-year-old woman was trying on clothes and walked away from her purse for five minutes. When she returned, she found the purse and its contents had been removed by persons unknown. She canceled all her credit cards, and there was no unauthorized use. The items stolen were a red wallet valued at $190, $95 in cash, a light green shoulder bag worth $40, various credit cards, a Metro Card, a health insurance card, a Costco membership card, her New York State driver's license, and a set of keys. The total of the items stolen amounted to $325.
