To the Editor: In your issue dated May 20, you touch briefly on Reshma Saujani"s appearance at a candidate forum in Midtown on May 16, where Ms. Saujani repeated her assertion that she is running becauseˆ people in the district tell her they want someone â??who looksˆ like me. ˆ But this is a double-edgedˆ argument. Oneˆ might just as easily say, â??If she doesn"t look like me, she can"t be my elected. The duty of an elected official is to represent the entire district. Anyone who cannotˆ in good conscience's or in reality's represent someone who looks â??different orˆ thinksˆ â??different, ˆ should not be running at all. Carol Ann Rinzler Midtown
