Baby Abandoned Safely

A maintenance worker came across [a baby in a Long Island hospital] restroom today. Apparently, the abandonment meets the terms of the state’s Safe Haven law, which allows parents to leave unwanted infants in designated areas without question. It seems a woman called the Baby Safe Haven hotline earlier this week, seeking advice and was told to leave her baby in a hospital maternity ward. The baby, who is being called Jane Doe Hope, is in fine health today.
