Urbanopolis
Aug. 14, Galapagos Art Space, 16 Main St. (at Water St.), Brooklyn, 718-222-8500; 8, $20 Something between Pan´s Labrynth, a body modification convention and Coppelia, this rangy circus has more narrative threads thaN Short Cuts but a whole lot more acrobatics.
The stories involve a mechanical doll come to life, a mythic creature and a bunch of muscular people hanging from the ceiling, running on the walls and generally doing circus-type activities. It´s like an evening of human chandeliers.
Bottom Line: If you like Cirque de Soleil and beer, you´ll like this slightly dirty, obstinately arty circus act.
