April 22-30, Museum of Modern Art, 11 W. 53rd St. (betw. 5th & 6th Aves.); times vary, $10Once a year for 30 years, the good folks at MoMA cast their eyes upon German film. This year in addition to screening new films—including the very interesting looking doc Gegenschuss –Aufbruch der Filmmacher, which traces the birth, life and death of the film cooperative Filmverlag der Autoren— they’ll screen some old gems from the archives like Fassbinder’s The Merchant Fassbinder of Four Seasons.
