Art Imitates Life, Life Imitates Art
The Post describes Bronx music teacher Emily Streb, 23, as beautiful and blond, which must be relevant because shes been accused of [having sex with a 16-year-old] special-ed student. Streb was arraigned yesterday on third-degree rape and other charges at Bronx Criminal Court. Allegedly, the two had sex many times, both at her home and at his while mom was out.
At first, it seems the boy repeatedly denied the claims to school probers. But evidently, when the school brought it up to his allegedly absentee mother and she questioned him, he ultimately admitted to the relationship. Streb eventually resigned. But the defense lawyer claims the boys confession was simply the move of your typical jilted lover, and says that he sent threatening text messages to the 5-foot-4, 125-pound instructor on Thursday. (Her height and weight are also relevant, not to evoke pin-up imagery but to reveal how much danger the slight woman was in.) The Post reports that the judge released Streb without bail, but issued a full order of protection keeping her from seeing the student.
