ARSONIST INDICTED

the manhattan district attorney's office announced on march 26 that an arsonist targeting the upper west side was indicted. christopher buxo, 54, was charged with a series of arsons that include the lobby of a building at 66 west 69th street between columbus avenue and central park west. other arson incidents include torching cars parked between central park west and broadway in the west 80s during the month of february. in each case, buxo left handwritten notes at the scene. buxo was arrested after the nypd and fdny set up a sting operation at central park west and west 83rd street. he is charged with multiple counts of arson and criminal possession of a weapon.
