To the Editor:
I was compelled to respond to Armond White’s review of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (Dec. 25). I loved the movie. I loved that it did NOT shove a “message” or “lesson” in our faces, but told a magical story, and we as the viewers were left to use our imaginations and read into it what we wanted. You sound so angry and not like a person who really enjoys the fun and, dare I say, the journey of a film. Open your mind and heart, please—which is what this film reminded me of. I was very moved by the birth and dying and living in very different times as well. I am reminded that I should NEVER listen to critics, even though I do find it interesting to hear various points of view. Happy New Year.
