How can people who live in the financial capital of the world express such ignorance about basics of supply and demand, let alone the very concept of “ownership”?Because of rent control, everyone in NYC pays either way too much or way too little in rent. No one pays the correct market rate.It is mystifying to hear these tenants decry landlords as “selfish.” The landlords are running a business, not a social service.
