Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion is in Germany right now (as pictured here), along with representatives of NYC & Company, touting the tourism benefits of his home borough and the City as a whole. The trip is part of NYC & Company's continuing effort to bring 50 million new tourists to the City by 2015.

But when you think tourism and New York City, The Bronx might not be the first thing that comes to mind. That's nonsense, said Carrion, who is touting attractions in his borough, like the forthcoming Yankee Stadium and the expanded Bronx Museum of the Arts.

As for the fiscal health of The Bronx, Carrion is quick to note that his borough has seen good growth, with market value of properties increasing by 74% over the last four years and $2 billion invested in creating new office buildings over the past five years.

“As New York goes through a renaissance perhaps unseen in its history, it’s important that we showcase all the city has to offer, from Manhattan and Brooklyn to the Bronx, Queens and Staten Island,” Carrion said. “And speaking for our borough, we’re proud to be an integral part of the authentic New York City experience.”
