A Cockettes Symposium and Plenty of Gender-Bending Fun

Earlier this week [several of the original Cockettes] were at the Theatre for the New City, along with fanciful Faeries and the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. If you don't know about the '60s psychedelic group The Cockettes, it's time to [check out the doc that focuses on them, including their disastrous 1971 NY debut](http://www.cockettes.com/) and bone up on your radical theater history (right?). The most intriguing part is the clear difference between these San Fran hippy kids and the Warhol Superstars (drag girls with much more jaded attitude).

If you missed last night's event at Monkeytown or the other appearances around town, you have one more chance tonight when Mink Stole (of John Waters notoriety) introduces Scrumbly, Sweet Pam, Rumi, Fayette, Harlow, Jet, Tahara, Sebastian, Toots Taraval and Dolores DeLuce at [The Center in the Village]. It's sure to be a gender fuck for everyone.
