9/11 Tribute Center Does Good Business

Apparently, just four months [after the 9/11 Tribute Center opened near ground zero, 100,000 people have visited it], according to AM New York. This is far more than what officials original expected back in September, now averaging 1,000 visitors a day (more during the holiday season!). A description of one portion of the Center reads:

“Two sections of wall have been turned into a giant photo gallery, filled with images of smiling faces sent in by victims' families. There's the woman in her wedding dress, the man lying down with his toddler son, the proud graduate.”

There’s also missing person flyers from the days following the attacks, pieces from the hijacked planes and scraps of metal from ground zero to be seen. Now, in addition to Times Square and Rockefeller Center, tourists can swing by the site of one of the nation’s biggest tragedies to understand the fabric of NYC.
